Spent most of today at the city museum - Te Papa. The weather wasn't great today and was quite cold with strong winds, but Wellington is nicknamed the windy city so that should be a surprise really - so an indoor acitivty was needed.
The museum was brilliant if that doesn't sound too geeky.
The first floor was dedicated to the geology of NZ and about the fault line that runs through it and we experienced an earthquake simulation in a little room.
The 2nd floor was all about the wildlife of the country and how it's changed over the years mainly due to those dam Europeans who screwed up the eco system by introducing rabbits and stoats!
The top few floors were focused on the Mauris and there were many examples of carved jewellery and axes, all very intricate!
In the afternoon we mooched about the shops, but didn't buy anything .
Just had a couple of more chilled days in Wellington which have been really nice, but may not have made for exciting blog reading so sorry for that!
Here are a few pics of our stay in Wellington.
