This morning we headed over to the Wai - o - tapu thermal wonderland.
A park with more hot springs, mud pools and fumeroles (they are quite common round here). Also they have the Lady KNox Geyser which errupts at 10.15am everyday.
We got to the park early and got our tickets. It really was spectacular!
The Geyser would go off on it's own about every 24 - 76 hours, buy at the park they throw in some soap like substance at 10.15am to help it along.
It spouted water about 10 - 15 metres into the air - brilliant!
We then wandered around the thermal park and saw loads of craters, fumeroles and mud pools. Some of the pools were amazing colours, flourescent green, yellow, orange and red - all dependant on which oxidents were mixing together.
These pics won't do it justice:
We stayed in the park as long as possible, but the smell here was very intense and so much stonger than in the centre of Rotorua, so we couldn't really stay all day as by early afternoon we just started feeling a bit sick.
This afternoon was very boring and we just got up to date ith laundry and then had a stroll round the lake in the sun!
