Today we head to Koh Samui. Before we left for the airport Michelle took a million pictures of our accommodation. The place we stayed was great, very clean and excellent value for money and the people were lovely so we were a little sad to leave as it had been very homely.
We arrived in Samui early afternoon and got a taxi to the first place we had on our accommodation list. The place was full, so we wandered down the road to our next place, this too was full. At this point my backpack became very heavy and I was starting to get a little worried that we may struggle to find some accommodation.
A few more places along the road and still there was no room at the inn. We arrived at our last place and I could have cried when they said they had a room and I was able to put the backpack down.... traveling is fun, but I don't think I'm really cut out to lug all my stuff around over long distances... from the airport to the taxi, to the hostel is about all I'm capable of!!
The place we are staying is lovely, clean room, pool, breakfast included... your money really does get you a hell of a lot more in Thailand!!
The rest of the afternoon was spent by the pool and in the evening we had a lovely meal and then found the best bar in the world. It's this cool little place a couple of doors down the beach from our accommodation. It's just a guy who lays out blankets on the beach, puts down little tables and cushions and a small oil lamp and he just brings the drinks over to you whilst you lay back and star gaze.... heaven!!
This is probably a good time to say that I think from now on we will be blogging by exception. We are definitely moving into the final stages of our adventure and the main emphasis is to relax rather than to crazily go everywhere and experience everything!!
So I think it's safe to say if we don't blog it's because we've spent the day by the pool catching some rays and just generally appreciating a traditional holiday experience and that there is really very little to report without boring you all crazy. If we do however have an odd day trip out we will be sure to add another entry!!
