Introducing the Advent-ure Calendar

After a conversation with Jennie at work the seed was planted and I wanted to create a visual countdown for the last few weeks before the travelling.

And so the Advent-ure Calendar was born!!  As we won't get to open the usual advent calendar before Christmas this seemed like a suitable alternative, we get to open a new door everyday and instead of your traditional winter scenes we've got a picture of one of our destinations.....

Also the numbers count down rather than up, but other than that it's almost a traditional Advent Calendar.

The finished prototype is a little rough around the edges and some of my cutting wasn't as neat as it could have been so the calendar never made it to the office, but it has been fun having it at home and seeing what is under each of the doors.... you'd think I'd remember since I made it, but it's surprising how quickly I've forgotten!
